Location

General Information

For berthed ships, passengers can walk on and off the vessel freely. It’s a short 360m walk to the port boundary.

From the port gates it’s a short 1.2km scenic walk past the recently upgraded Marina into the city centre or a 600m walk from the tender berth to the edge of the city.

Ambassadors are stationed around the port boundary and on the way to town to help passengers find their way.
For passengers from berthed cruise ships wishing to save their legs, the port has a shuttle van that can run passengers to the city centre.

We have a specific cruise destination map with key locations and highlights for passengers and crew. These can be picked up from security or from any Ambassadors.

The Port van for berthed ships runs passengers to the City Centre – Town Clock, with a 2-hourly pick-up starting at 10am.

Nearest taxi rank is a short walk to the port boundary.

Rental cars are available at the airport. If a passenger books a car and informs the port in advance, we can arrange a ride to the airport for pick-up.

Several ATMs are located in the city, an easy 1km walk from the tender berth.

The Seafarers Centre is on the port, directly opposite the cruise berth.

New berth details – Wharf 7 is now complete and we are berthing cruise ship under 160 LOA this season. Next Season we hope to be able to extend this to ship upto 180 LOA.

Shore Gangways

Our bespoke cruise tender pier has easy gangway access and cloase coach facilities

Shuttles

We have a small port shuttle that can run passengers into town or to the port boundries if required.

Access

For berthed ships passengers have the option to shuttle or walk to or from the ship as they please. All tour coaches are loaded and unloaded next to the gangway.

Located right in the heart of Gisborne city, Eastland Port is an easy walking distance of 1.2km to the centre of the city.

Our newly upgraded Airport is a short 5.6 km or 10 min taxi ride from the port.
